This week's interview we meet Zandria + Lulu! Zandria and I met through our trainer and mother agency in Dallas, TX a few years ago... Zandria has been one of the models that I personally admire a great deal, as she is a beautiful person inside and out. I hope you enjoy, and just a heads up... Lulu is a big deal. So, I feel very fortunate that she has agreed to grace us with her presence via the internet.

Meet the Human-
1. What is your name?
Zandria Theis
2. What would you say is your calling in life?
that's hard because I've always been modeling and in fashion, and always thought that was kind of what I was supposed to do. It wasn't until quarantine when everything kind of changed and obviously I wasn't working... Then I started a business, my workout party, and I wouldn't even say that is my calling because I'm not all about fitness. It was just something to kind of help me pass the time. So, overall I would have to say my calling has changed into being a creative overall, entrepreneur, and trying to support other female entrepreneurs.
3. What is your favorite color?
Blue. Specifically a baby blue.
4. What is your favorite type of food or meal?
Something that is salty and hardy. Like steak or chips or I guess my favorite meal would be chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, all the good stuff.
A good Southern cooked meal.
5. What is this smell that makes you happy?
That's funny, you know I would honestly say Lulu's feet. Every time I smell her I'm like so excited!
6. Where and how did you grow up?
I grew up in Lawrence, Kansas. I was born in Kansas, then moved to New Mexico for a little bit in seventh grade for only half a year. Then that's when I moved to Texas. So, I was kind of all over the place. I definitely jumped around.
7. If you had super powers, what would they be?
If I had super powers I would do invisibility.
8. What are the unwritten rules of where you work?
Well, considering I'm working home and for myself, unwritten rule is have fun and drink a lot of coffee, always.
9. What do you enjoy doing when you aren't working or just on your perfect day off?
Laying around my warm Santa Monica house, with the doors open, my boyfriend and my dog, and just relaxing. And it's not cold. As long as I'm warm that is my perfect day.
10. As a model, having worked in the fashion industry a great deal, what's the strange or memorable story that has always stuck with you?
the stories that stick with you unfortunately are the negative ones. For me, and this is just an overall point, is that even when I was 17 I had just hit puberty and no agency wanted to sign me at that time because my measurements were too big... which they're the same measurements I have now. The positive to this is that the industry is changing. Obviously you don't have to be a 34" hip anymore if that's not what your body type is naturally, which is kind of awesome. I had a really hard time signing anywhere or getting work just because it was like the way your body changes, which is kind of messed up. So overall positive from that would be how much it has changed since then, because I am signed now, I'm 24, and I've been doing it for 10 years successfully, which is great!
11. Describe your style in three words.
I would say classic, funky-fusion, sexy.
BONUS: What is an absolute must have fashion piece for you personally at the moment? Right now I'm kind of obsessed with a hand-me-down from one of my friends who moved to New York. I got this blazer from her and it's like a very old school blazer with a cream and black design on it.
Meet the Pet-
1. What is your name?
Lulu. Oh, I actually have a full name- Luella Bell Theis
2. What breed are you?
Chihuahua and beagle mix.
3. How old are you?
Just turned three, like two days ago... Big birthday. 21 !!!
4. If you had super powers, what would it be?
My superpower would be not getting full. I'd eat everything possible if I could.
5. Who is your role model in life?
I would say my role model would be Flynn, my brother/roommate's dog.
6. Tell us your adoption or rescue story.
I'm from Vanderpump dogs, but I was originally named "Lucy, Lucy, Apple juicy" which was Dorit's dog from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. The last season was all about Dorit and Lisa Vanderpump getting in this argument... after Lisa had adopted me out to Dorit, I then ended up at a kill shelter and that was the big drama of the season, which is just ridiculous!
But Dorit said that she didn't know how I ended up there... but that's how I ended up back at Vanderpump! Zandria's roommate worked for Vanderpump at that time, so they fostered me for a month... "foster" in quotations. Then of course they kept me. It's kind of a crazy story cause it was all over news. People had created me a Twitter account during this entire season and I am a famous dog. I'm pretty up there in the Hollywood dog community
7. What is your favorite color?
Tan like a cream. That's pretty much all I wear. It compliments my skin tone very well.
8. What is the ultimate cheat meal for you?
Cheat meal. Ooh, cheese. I freak out over cheese.
9. What nicknames do you go by?
Well, Lulu, just Lu, L-U, baby, baby girl.
10. How did you get your name? Is there any significance behind it?
Coming from "Lucy, Lucy, Apple juicy", Zandria didn't really like it, so she took the LU-LU from the double Lucy. And that's how I got Lulu!
11. What is the best and worst thing about being a dog. Best thing is getting unconditional love. I get all the love in the world and I am definitely the best cuddler. The worst thing- there is no worse thing. I mean, I get everything I want!
Meet the Group-
1. take us through your morning routines together!
We wake up and it's all of us in the bed. She sleeps with us and she sleeps like a human, which is hilarious. Head on pillow, body under the covers, sleeping on her side, like a full human. We will play in the morning because morning time is her absolute favorite so, she'll run up and jump on us and, we'll play on the bed... then we wake up, we will take our morning walk to Starbucks, which is two blocks away. So, she gets really excited for that. Then she'll either go to work with Reed or she'll stay home with me depending on if I'm home for the day.
2. Do you two ever dress alike?
You know what? She doesn't match me as much as she will match Reed (my boyfriend) because we'll cut off a sleeve from one of Reed's sweaters and put it on her as a little sweater. Then he'll wear the shirt, as a sleeveless sweater shirt with her!
3. Do you have a favorite game to play together?
She likes to be chased, so chase! She doesn't fetch or anything. So, if she has the ball, you're the one chasing her and that's all it is.
4. If you had a theme song, what would it be?
"Girls Just Want to Have Fun," for sure.
5. What is something that your pet does that gets on your nerves?
When she goes potty in the house, which is not very often, we've trained her pretty well to get off of that, but she's not perfect. Well, she's pretty perfect. Let's not say that.
6. What's the best thing about having each other?
Unconditional love, a friend forever. I talk to Reed about this all the time. How I have no idea what we would have done without her, how our life would have been... She is literally the center of our universe.
7. What is your favorite memory together?
I love to travel with her. When we go to Dallas together or when she goes up to DC with us, I love traveling with her! Those are my favorite memories when she's on the plane she's cute, everybody's obsessed with her, and it's just fun.
8. What's the funniest thing Lulu has ever done?
She's learned this trick and it's based off of begging, but she's not allowed to beg. We call it "sitting pretty". When she wants a treat, she'll just pop up on her hind legs and she shakes and she'll stick her tongue out and she has no bottom teeth. So, her tongue will just automatically slip out and stay there and gets stuck and this "sitting pretty", shaking, tongue out- situation that she does very often is definitely her funniest move.
9. What is the hardest thing about caring for LuLu?
I would have to say the hardest thing is knowing that I won't be able to have her forever.
10. Do you two inspire each other in any way? And if so, how and why?
She inspires me to be a better person for sure. Having that sense of responsibility and having her around. She inspires me every day. She's like my daughter. Whether or not I inspire her, I would hope so!
11. If you and your pet were an iconic duo, it could be from anything, TV, movies, celebrities, history, anything, who would it be and why?
Thelma and Louise- Because she's like my partner in crime. I take her everywhere.
